2015 "D'oro" Port

Yes, this is a red dessert wine made entirely from Petite Sirah and fortified with Germain-Robin Alambic brandy in the manner of a vintage Porto. It is intensely aromatic with a dense and heady nose of chocolate, boysenberry preserves and a suggestion of pomegranate molasses, and its potent, sweet flavors of salty dark chocolate, Christmas spices and cooked fig are both unctuous and indulgent. Although it can be enjoyed now with very rich cheeses or chocolate desserts, it, like its Portuguese model, will only excel if cellared for at least a few years.
